The Green Kemper Custom 360

We took on some mods for a customer of ours and believe me its been a while from start to finish, I think over 6 months.  Granted that's mostly time waiting for jigs, waiting for the chrome shop, waiting for... well time to work on it.  He pushed us to do some work we were not totally prepared to do, he was patient and I think the wait may have been worth it.  We needed 4 additional cut templates which means building jigs and its always a good deal of work.  But on the upside we are now ready to do window cuts on Hard Drive Lids, 360 HD DVD Drive cases, Samsung HD DVD's, regular Samsung DVD's and , Hitachi DVD's.

Painted metal flake green and sliver metal flake accents.  We also used a good deal of chrome to accent the color scheme.  As always we seem to like to build customs that challenge our ability to photograph them.  The above photo best illustrates the metal flake of the entire console.  The photos below are probably a better representation of the actual shade of green but end up looking like a flat green with no flake.  The chrome looks dull in all the photos due to our use of diffused window plastic.  Its still the right thing to do but the photos are never representative of the actual product.  Using diffused plastic eliminates fingerprints and dust to a great extent and when viewed by the naked eye you would not even notice that it is diffused as apposed to clear plastic used in the window.

Parts List:

We love the natural light out back so the background cement pillars and rain gutters are becoming a fixture in our photos of our favorite customs.  We were lucky, it rained much of the morning but we had a break in the afternoon, hence the wet cement.

For lighting we went with the green aurora light kit, green whisper fan, and a few 3mm led's in the Hard drive, and DVD drives.  It turns out there is readily available power inside the DVD drives so we did some lighting under the laser to give a nice glow and just illuminate the inside a bit to help balance the lighting.  The DVD trays were also painted a matching silver metal flake, its not quite as noticeable as we thought it would be but it ties the whole thing together nicely.  The controllers are modded as well with 2 whites and 2 greens in the ring of light matching the consoles ring of light colors as well.  The ABXY buttons on the controllers were lit with corresponding colors.  We changed the eject LED on the HD DVD drive to match the green color scheme.

You will notice that the DVD window lids are custom cut much like our original RockStar 360 We then send them out to our favorite chrome shop and they come back fully chromed looking just like a mirror.

That's about it... easy! ;-)
